2005 – 2011: Managing Director, Kingsway Business Finance Ltd
 
·                 Acquired a finance brokerage targeted at SME sector businesses, completed 70 deals, arranging £3.2bn funding in first year. 
·                 Successfully developed a direct marketing activity mailing 7000 firms per quarter and accounting for 30% of sales.
·                 Successfully raised £2.2m for Childcare Group, t/o £10m, as part of an MBO, brokering deal to principal lenders and guided the offer through legals and valuation to completion.
·                 Financed a start-up business in nursery sector using Small Loans Financing, achieved break even in 6 months and built revenues to £300k p.a. in four years.
 
 
2000 - 2005  Company Director, SJK Furniture Ltd. 
 
·       T/o £600k, bespoke household furniture manufacture.
·       Part of MBI team.
·       Successfully financed the buy-out of the business doubled sales over five years and achieved a successful exit for the investors through a trade sale.
·       Created a new marketing strategy, moving away from distribution to end users and improved margins by 15%.
·       Secured a major contract with Sharpes Bedrooms providing 12% of turnover and profit within three years.
      
1999 – 2000 Management Consultant, Kingsway Marketing Resource Ltd.
 
·       Led the sales teams that launched Agalinks.com, a website portal aimed at AB level customers.
·       Developed and implemented a new pricing and distribution structure for Wade Ceramics and established a retail chain of 36 stockists with £500k sales p.a.
·       Investigated price sensitivity of UK bagged cement for Blue Circle Industries and proposed a new marketing and distribution strategy.
 
1998 – 1999 Sales & Marketing Director Armitage Shanks
 
·       T/o £125m sanitary ware manufacturer.
·       Headhunted to manage all UK sales and marketing and assume general management responsibility for the Shower Division.
·       Following an unsuccessful MBO bid, worked with Lazard Bros on the trade sale of Armitage Shanks to Ideal Standard Corporation in 1999 and spearheaded post-acquisition integration. 
·       Established new specification sales force team backed up with telemarketing to improve salesforce time utilisation, reducing sales costs by 25%.
·       Launched 200 Armitage Bathroom Centres throughout the UK, with unique product range and pricing structure, improving margins by 7%.
·       Launched Armitage Bathroom installations through B&Q, an innovative proposition to combine high quality sanitary ware with an installation service.
 
1991 – 1998 Sales & Marketing Director Aga Cookers
 
·       T/o £80m, high value consumer durables, subsidiary of Glynwed International.
·       Changed distribution strategy that resulted in the establishment of 40 Aga Shops, and re-branded existing dealers into 28 Aga Cooker Centres, growing
·       Aga sales from 6000 to 8000 units per annum.
·       Re-organised international sales utilising subsidiaries in Ireland, France, North America and Australia and renegotiated agreements globally, increasing turnover 15% to £10m p.a.
·       Managed the acquisition team that purchased Morso Cookware (t/o £3m) and increased turnover of Aga branded cookware by 35% including 15% factored cookware accessories.
·       Increased sales in Ireland by 2000 units per annum (15% of annual volume) and forced Waterford Stanley into a position where eventually they were successfully acquired.
·       Established a 26 strong Irish dealer network of ‘Rayburn Cooking and Heating Centres’. 
 
1988 – 1991 General Manager, Kingsway Industrial Services Ltd.
 
·       T/o £5m, power tool distribution.
·       Integrated two private companies, reduced stocks, rationalised the sales force and increased brand awareness.
·       Prepared business plans and presented to City funders as part of capital raising programme to allow further acquisitions.
 
1985 – 1988 Group Product Manager, Small Appliance Division, Williams Holdings PLC.
 
·       T/o £10m, small household appliance manufacturer and distributor.
·       Acquisition of Breville Small Appliances.
 
1983 – 1985 Senior Product Manager Black & Decker
·       T/o £250m, power tools.
·       Successfully launched a new range of cordless power tools to the UK market.
 
1980 – 1983 Project Leader, Blue Circle Sandtex
·       Launched the first water-based gloss paint.
